The Completionist‘s charity organization, The Open Hand Foundation, is facing accusations from Karl Jobst of not reporting donations, following earlier allegations of withholding funds. Jirard Khalil, also known as The Completionist, is under scrutiny for fraud.
The Open Hand Foundation, managed by The Completionist and his family, was investigated by Karl Jobst and SomeOrdinaryGamers otherwise known as Mutahar.
Both investigators claimed that the charity was withholding over $600,000 in donations originally intended for Dementia research, primarily raised through The Completionist‘s IndieLand charity stream.
Over the course of almost 10 years of filings, it appears that they have never actually distributed any donations, as indicated by tax documentation.
In a recent YouTube video, Jobst revealed that the situation is more severe than initially disclosed, alleging that The Open Hand Foundation failed to report donations alongside discovering an additional revenue stream.
In Jobst’s video, he discloses that The Open Hand Foundation organizes a charitable golf tournament with proceeds intended for Dementia research. The tournament, which has been ongoing since 2003, has secured major sponsorships from prominent companies such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Monster Energy.
According to Jobst, this golf tournament consistently attracts tens of thousands of dollars in sponsorships each year. His video features a graphic displaying sponsorship packages with amounts ranging from $750 to $10,000.
Jobst’s analysis of publicly available data indicates that the golf tournament raised an annual sum ranging from approximately $30,000 to $60,000 in the years spanning from 2014 to 2017.
“The interesting thing about the money the golf tournament raises is that it seems to disappear,” Jobst made the allegation and proceeded to elucidate how this revelation connected to his previous inquiry into The Completionist and IndieLand.
Before 2018, the primary fundraiser for The Open Hand Foundation was the golf tournament. The advent of The Completionist’s IndieLand charity stream in 2018 introduced a second source of donations for the charity.
Despite the growing success of IndieLand and a steady stream of donations from the golf tournament, Jobst points out that there should be a noticeable impact on The Open Hand Foundation’s reported charitable earnings. However, Jobst’s data does not reflect this impact.
He observes a consistent pattern in the filings from 2019 onwards, indicating that the majority of revenue can be attributed to IndieLand, with minimal contributions from the golf tournament. This is inconsistent with the evident presence of multiple significant sponsors paying up to $10,000 each for the golf cup, as shown in photos.
Jobst alleges, “Certainly, tens of thousands of dollars at least in donations every single year are going missing,” and raises the question of how and where this is happening. He also presents evidence suggesting that this discrepancy existed before The Completionist established The Open Hand Foundation.
Jobst asserts, “The golf cup was taking in donations without contributing any of the money it raised long before Indie Land even started. When Indie Land came along, it did the exact same thing. This doesn’t happen by accident.”
“I think at this point, I’ve uncovered enough to confidently say that something very criminal is happening with the Open Hand Foundation,” stated Jobst, urging his audience to report fraud to the appropriate authorities.
As of now, neither The Completionist nor The Open Hand Foundation has issued a public response to Jobst and Mutahar’s initial accusations. Jobst contends that, despite the freshness of these recent allegations, “they’re burying their head in the sand and ignoring the situation, hoping it blows over.”
Personally, I’d love to see this fat piece of shit get his comeuppance, it’s hard enough as it is to actually donate money to a reputable cause as seemingly almost every single non-profit organization / charity outright steals your money, and then this lard arse comes in with his reputable internet fame and swindles his audience over Dementia research, pocketing the money himself effectively.
