The game initially debuted on PC via Steam on September 26th, 2023, and now devoted fans of the story-driven RPG can choose to purchase the game physically for home consoles.
WitchSpring R is a captivating story-driven RPG that blends simulation, collecting & crafting, and battling, all set against charming fairy tale-like graphics and accompanied by beautiful orchestral-style music.
The game follows Pieberry, a white-haired bunny-eared witch, in a world where witch hunts by warriors are commonplace. It delves into the growth and adventures of the protagonist as players immerse themselves in the enchanting tale and chibi characters.
As mentioned above, WitchSpring R previously released on PC last year and received overwhelmingly positive reception with Steam reviews showing a 96% rating from 4,149 reviews with an “overwhelmingly positive” rating.
Furthermore, the game offers Japanese and Korean audio options, along with support for English and Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified) text.
Console players can now fully immerse themselves in WitchSpring R with the release of physical editions. For a limited time, Japanese buyers can enjoy an exclusive DLC outfit for Pieberry for 4,950 yen, although it’s currently listed for 4,455 yen on Rakuten.
Of course, consumers aren’t particularly interested in a standard physical copy with just bonus DLC. For the most dedicated fans, at the retail price of 19,800 yen (approximately $127 USD), you can indulge in a physical copy of WitchSpring R adorned with a special commemorative box, a hardcover artbook, an official soundtrack CD, a set of badges and character cards, and the “Silver Rose Set” of DLC outfits.
Such offerings are quite the standard fare for special limited editions.
I almost forgot to mention the charming chibi figure of Pieberry herself.
It’s been announced that PM Studios will be responsible for publishing the game in the West. However, if you’re eager to get your hands on a limited copy, you’ll likely have to resort to importing, as I doubt non-Japanese customers are deemed worthy of such exclusivity.
Nevertheless, you can purchase WitchSpring R’s limited edition with a accompanying figurine for 17,820 yen (approximately $114 USD) from Rakuten. The game itself will be launching for the XBOX One, presumably as a digital-only release, as well as on the Sony PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch platforms on August 29th.
