On the 14th anniversary of Warner Brothers acquiring a majority stake in Rocksteady Studios, they openly acknowledged that their recent game, “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” was a monumental flop, stating that it had “failed to meet expectations.”
During a financial call, Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial Officer, Gunnar Wiedenfels, acknowledged that Rocksteady’s game had not achieved the commercial success the company had anticipated since its release on February 2 stating that it had “fallen short of our expectations.”
The reasons behind the game’s failure are evident. “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” endured nine years of tumultuous development, which was handled by dyed haired feminists.
Priced at $70 as a live service offering, it diverged significantly from the beloved Arkham series, alienating fans. Furthermore, its narrative was crafted with progressive agendas in conjunction with Sweet Baby Inc.
And despite being an online-only title that costs $70, Rocksteady introduced barbaric microtransactions, adding to its downfall.
To say that the game “fell short” is an understatement, with the live service game reaching a peak of 13,459 concurrent players on Steam, a number that has significantly decreased since its launch.
The game has now fallen to under one thousand concurrent peak players within a 24 hour timeframe. Though at least on the plus side for all 900 players that remain the latest update broke the game.
Naturally, Warner Bros.’ admission of the game’s failure silences those who speculated that the majority of Suicide Squad’s player base resided exclusively on console platforms. It’s increasingly clear that the game hardly sold at all, to the extent that Warner Bros. chose to completely omit specific sales figures for Rocksteady’s game entirely.
“This year, Suicide Squad, one of our key video game releases in 2024, has fallen short of our expectations since its release earlier in the quarter, setting our games business up for a tough year-over-year comp in Q1,” Wiedenfels said.
It’s spectacular failure is a true feel good moment for real gamers everywhere, with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being one of the most hated video games to release over the past several years.
Its inevitable downfall was evident when you consider its combination of being a live service title, priced at the exorbitant new standard of $70, featuring microtransactions, written by a bunch of progressive self-loathing twats and blatantly disrespecting the legacy of previous Arkham-verse installments.
The game can be described as nothing more than a bland looter-shooter, epitomizing the concept of “a modern game for modern audiences.” Its lackluster writing is inundated with forced humor and gags.
Notably, prominent characters like Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn undergo a noticeable de-feminization, with Harley being transformed into a radical figure who defies traditional gender norms, departing from her femme fatale design.
This nonsensical bullshit is mostly to avoid accusations of sexism or more rather it’s likely because the developers despise femininity as they themselves are unattractive.
Rocksteady’s long-term strategy for “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” remains unclear, but certain details have surfaced. It’s confirmed that Joker will be a playable character in the game.
However, it’s highly doubtful that anyone truly cares about the inclusion of Joker in “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” especially considering how the developers themselves depict the notorious villain as “insecure” and in the process of “figuring himself out” as he “doesn’t know what to do with the world around him”.
These individuals, entrusted with crafting game narratives, epitomize a troubling trend. Initially, one might assume they lack comprehension of the characters, but this is far from the truth.
They possess a keen awareness of the source material, yet deliberately opt to deviate from it in every conceivable manner. It’s evident that they harbor a disdain not only for the fans but also for the source material and the characters themselves.
Which is why they’ve attempted to “humanize” the Joker with an extremely effluent design, hinting at a possibly homosexual portrayal of Joker. Perhaps this cunt is simply projecting their own feelings of insecurity, hence their choice to dye their hair.
Datamining efforts have also uncovered indications pointing towards the possible inclusion of Flash and Green Lantern in some capacity. Additionally, there are speculations about other playable characters such as Mrs. Freeze (Nora Fries), Lawless, and Deathstroke making their way into the game.
However, I foresee that while these content drops, already well into development, will release as scheduled, the game as a whole will likely be abandoned by the end of the year.
This live service title has proven to be a colossal failure, significantly underperforming expectations. As more players abandon this game in the coming months, the expenses associated with maintaining servers will surpass the income generated from game sales and microtransactions, ultimately leading to its termination.
And I for one couldn’t be happier.
