Compile Heart have revealed the release date for their bullet-hell tactics RPG “Touhou Spell Carnival,” which was previously slated for a Spring 2024 release on Sony PlayStation 4 & 5 consoles alongside the Nintendo Switch is now confirmed for a April 18 release.
“Touhou Spell Carnival” stands out as a distinctive bullet-hell tactics RPG that fuses elements of bullet hell shooting and tactical RPG. Developed by Sting, the game introduces strategically intricate battles, challenging players to navigate through diverse stage gimmicks and ever-evolving bullet patterns.
The narrative is a key feature, showcasing a captivating story with numerous characters from Touhou Project that are illustrated by Katsuyuki Hirano
The standard edition is priced at 8,580 yen, the “Carnival Edition” at 10,780 yen, and the “Special Pack” at 14,080 yen. The “Special Pack” includes deformed figures of Reimu and Marisa, an original hanging scroll, stickers, a visual book, and a soundtrack CD.
Touhou Spell Carnival was among the several new game projects unveiled by Compile Heart in October. About one month later, they disclosed that the game would be accessible on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The recently revealed release date of April 18 aligns with their earlier target window of Spring 2024.
