On April 11, 2024, Metamorphosis Games and publisher Fireshine Games announced that the 2D pixel-art action RPG, “Gestalt: Steam & Cinder,” is scheduled to release on May 22nd for PC via Steam.
Initially planned for a 2020 release, the game’s launch date has now been officially confirmed. Furthermore, there’s a demo of Gestalt: Steam & Cinder ready for download, allowing players to immerse themselves in its captivating pixelated action.
Taking cues from 16/32-bit classics, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder is a thrilling side-scrolling adventure where players embody “Aletheia,” a mesmerizing red-haired protagonist, navigating through a sprawling steampunk world known as “Canaan.”
Aletheia showcases a range of evasion tactics, including rolling, in addition to close-range sword strikes and long-range gunfire. These features enable dynamic combat sequences, elegantly illustrated with meticulously crafted pixel art, all within the game’s 2D framework.
By defeating enemies, players will earn experience points to enhance their skills and character attributes. Along the journey, you’ll encounter numerous individuals offering side-quests for additional challenges.
Moreover, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder includes numerous hidden areas waiting to be uncovered, potentially leading to upgrades for items or skills.
Naturally, no authentic 2D action game would be complete without colossal bosses to challenge players and test their skills. Facing these larger than life enemies may humble players, forcing them to upgrade their abilities and acquire new accessories to enhance their character builds, allowing them to confront these metallic behemoths.
Fans have eagerly anticipated Gestalt: Steam & Cinder for years, enduring what seems like a considerable struggle during development. Fortunately, after nearly four years of waiting, players will finally get to immerse themselves in this captivating 2D pixelated steampunk Metroidvania on May 22nd.
