Just like how a 200+ GB installation is necessary because they simply “added so much content”, Sledgehammer Games are lying through their goddamn teeth.
We’ve already gone over the clusterfuck that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, with its cancerous 200+ GB installation due to the copy and paste nature of its game design and assets alongside the fact that it’s entirely uncompressed out of sheer laziness.
The game itself is immensely short, with its campaign lasting little over three hours, its entire multiplayer component is completely unoriginal, as Sledgehammer Games are recycling the entirety of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 in terms of its map pool.
So imagine my goddamn shock when Sledgehammer Games proclaim that Modern Warfare III is “a labour of love” to the Call of Duty community along with the fact that the game has apparently been “years in the making”.
Sledgehammer Games are a third wheel studio, this game by them is merely an intermediary release to bide time and capture the attention of consumers with a recycled asset flip until a full fledged release by either Infinity Ward or Treyarch are completed.
“We’re incredibly proud of Modern Warfare 3 – both the full game experience at launch and the upcoming year of content we have planned for the community,” according to Aaron Halon, head of Sledgehammer Games.
Modern Warfare III is such a “labor of love” it warranted Treyarch to develop the games “Zombies” portion as the studio works on their next Call of Duty installment.
Your average Call of Duty consumer in this day and age are merely retarded muppets, no different from sheep, they seemingly graze upon the grass that’s grown by Activision and move across to the next field to consume more grass every single year, but somehow for whatever reason, Sledgehammer Game’s Modern Warfare III is so half baked that even COD buyers are beginning to notice the pattern.
Pattern recognition is a very dangerous thing, and yet if you simply connect the dots nothing about 2023’s release adds up.
Sledgehammer Games have been assisting in the development of the Call of Duty franchise since 2011, they served as shit kickers for Infinity Ward with the original Modern Warfare 3, before being tasked to produce to their own mainline installments in the forms of 2014’s Advanced Warfare, which wasn’t just garbage but introduced “exosuits” and loot boxes.
They then developed 2017’s release of Call of Duty: WWII which was completely rubbish both in terms of its campaign and even multiplayer component, and they also developed Call of Duty: Vanguard, yet another World War themed abomination which is often touted amongst the Call of Duty community as being one of the worst releases of all time.
Their track record is dogshit, everything they’ve produced up until this date has been dogshit, why would anyone expect anything less of them with Modern Warfare III?
It isn’t a “labor of love”, more rather it’s a love letter to greed. Bloomberg’s report states that the game itself was initially pitched as an EXPANSION, downloadable goddamn content for 2022’s release but rather it was repackaged as a full “premium title”.
Sledgehammer Games are an understaffed third wheel, every single time they go about doing things “alone” they faulter entirely, the campaign length for Modern Warfare III is exactly that, three hours.
To say that it’s glorified DLC is a goddamn understatement, despite the “bug” that demanded your MW2 disc be inserted, it’s fucking funny how the game harpers on about how you need to insert Modern Warfare II to actually play the campaign because the multiplayer component is a nostalgia “throwback” or rather it’s a worthless cash grab that recycles every single map from 2009’s original Modern Warfare 2.
It’s asinine that Sledgehammer would proactively try and damage control the situation because players are rightfully outraged, and yet in order for them to be outraged in the first place they first had to have pre-ordered this pile of shit, so like every single Call of Duty entry before 2023’s Modern Warfare III, the game is already a financial success.
Your thoughts and opinions are worthless to them. That Bloomberg report really sent them over the goddamn edge however, a third rate studio spending 16 months on the project, given its nostalgia trip throwback map pool, the recycling of multiplayer weapons of which majority of the guns featured inside of Modern Warfare II are being caried over and yet both of which still pale in comparison in terms of actual model quality to 2019’s installment.
Combine these with the embarrassingly short campaign mode, I’d actually wager that the total development time was even shorter than 16 months, from the bottom of my heart this franchise can fuck off and die, but that’s never going to happen, not with so many sheeple endlessly buying the same goddamn garbage each and every year, continually complaining as the franchise’s decay and degrade in quality and content shows more of itself with every single installment.
Fuck Sledgehammer Games, fuck Aaron Halon, fuck Activision and fuck Call of Duty.
