HK Hero Entertainment (HERO GAMES) revealed their plans to conduct technical tests for the early development stages of “Duet Night Abyss” on PC. The recruitment campaign for test participants has begun as of today, March 15th and users will be able to apply until March 22nd.
The game will be available on PC, iOS, and Android platforms.
This is a small-scale test conducted before an official closed beta and will be exclusively available to PC users only.
Players participating in this test will delve into segments of the main storyline, encounter numerous characters, and engage in explorations and thrilling battles, as per Hero Games statement in the official FAQ.
“During this trial, only the female Phoxhunter is available as the starting character. However, in upcoming versions, players will have the option to choose the gender of their starting character.”
There are three avenues for participation: From March 15th to March 23rd at 0:59 AM, taking part in the official survey and joining the lottery campaign on the dedicated website is anticipated to provide eligibility for the test through a lottery. Moreover, participants in the website campaign stand a chance to win exclusive merchandise.
As for the game itself, “Duet Night Abyss” is a high-freedom fantasy adventure RPG set in the continent of Atlasia, where magic and machinery coexist. The game follows the journey of the “Phox Hunter,” a mysterious individual raised on an island bordering the Hyperborean Empire and the Elysian Church.
It is rumored that in their dreams, both a girl and a boy appear, leading to a multi-faceted story told from their perspectives. Amidst the clash between the Empire and the Elysian Church, and in a land inhabited by creatures, the protagonist embarks on an adventure, encountering various companions along the way.
The gameplay offers a dynamic 3D action experience. One of its notable features is the versatile weapon system, granting all characters the ability to wield any weapon. Players can seamlessly switch between weapons even during combat.
Alongside traditional melee weapons like swords, spears, and whips, and ranged weapons such as bows, guns, and cannons, futuristic weapons like the Float Gun are introduced.
Additionally, a stylish movement system enables sliding, gliding, and parkour maneuvers. Each map is randomly generated, providing players with opportunities for exploration and survival.
Rather than being an open-world RPG akin to games like Genshin Impact, some passionate fans are suggesting that Duet Night Abyss shares more similarities with Warframe. This comparison could be seen as a positive, particularly considering the oversaturation of gacha games in the mobile market that often lack substantial gameplay.
Developers PAN STUDIO and publishers Hero Games appear to know how to captivate their audience with Duet Night Abyss, as the limited promotional material showcases a diverse range of charming female characters, offering ample opportunities for interaction with various designs to suit your preferences.
I enjoy these types of games, as long as the gacha aspect isn’t overly predatory and doesn’t require massive investments of time or money to progress meaningfully. I prefer to fully immerse myself in free-to-play games that offer engaging gameplay and a compelling story.
Additionally, I appreciate these Eastern games that don’t force certain sexual orientations unlike Western developed slop that demands an upfront fee of $60-70 for a dull, buggy game with an uninteresting story and uglified female characters.
One notable aspect of Duet Night Abyss is its PC requirements. The game will be compatible with the Windows 7 operating system and will require at least 20GB of storage space. It is recommended that your system has 16GB of memory. The minimum graphics requirements include the now seven-year-old AMD Radeon RX 580 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.
For the processor, a Ryzen 5 2600X is the minimum requirement, but anything around an Intel 6th Generation or above should suffice. For optimal performance, it is recommended to have either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card. The recommended CPU is an Intel 10th Gen processor or an 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X.
