A collaboration limited time event between Queen’s Blade: Limit Break and Highschool of the Dead will begin on November 24th and end on December 8th.
Queen’s Blade: Limit Break is a rather unexciting browser / mobile game available on G123. featuring busty women with a mostly idle gameplay nature and an ungodly amount of microtransactional content.
G123 (Gichiichinisann) is a game service that allows users to enjoy carefully selected high-quality games on smartphones, tablets, and computers via web browsers without the need for downloads or memberships.
For the most part Queen’s Blade is just invasive, with its ads plastered all over the goddamn internet, nowhere near as bad as RAID Shadow Legends but Limit Break is certainly a town bicycle.
It’s a low rate, mostly idle “mobile” gacha game with a turn based combat system during the marginal areas of “gameplay” that it offers, it’s essentially thrusted upon unsuspecting victims through endless ad campaigns and just so happens to be based upon the Queen’s Blade franchise.
But at least it has a multitude of pretty ladies with big tits, but your standards would have to be pretty low to actually play this.
So it comes as no surprise that a series such as Highschool of the Dead would be utilized in collaboration with something as obscure and petty as Queen’s Blade: Limit Break instead of all the other mobile gacha games that would undoubtedly do HOTD more justice.
Highschool of the Dead was an immensely popular series during its heyday, but that was well over a decade ago with the series on a permanent hiatus following the sad and cruel death of Daisuke Sato, the creator of the series.
So the franchise has seemingly been left to rot, with its fans having gone through the many stages of grief only to be rudely awakened and undoubtedly depressed again with this collaboration.
Characters like Reina Miyamoto, Saeko Busujima, and Saya Takagi will make an appearance and be unlocked, with the collaboration ushering in exclusive story content and battle stages inside Queen’s Blade: Limit Break where you’ll fight against “them”, with “them” simply being referred as the undead.
Additional content featured are unique character outfits for prominent Queen’s Blade characters such as Cattleya and Nyx who now don the same Takashi high school attire as featured on Highschool of the Dead and that’s about it.
No additional information has been given out and I don’t really blame them, had this collaboration been announced for any other prolific mobile gacha game, namely Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Blue Archive or the sorts, I’d actually be extremely intrigued given that I am a fan of the franchise and I too am deeply upset that Highschool of the Dead is being passed around on games such as Queen’s Blade: Limit Break when it deserves far better treatment.
But I understand why it’s being mistreated, it’s a long since dead franchise given that its creator has long since passed away, nobody can really stop the passage of time since the series was in the spotlight, its fans may not have forgotten about Highschool of the Dead but corporate pushovers certainly have, but maybe this is just the beginning of collaborations featuring the IP, maybe one day we might actually get that NIKKE crossover collaboration that would actually bring attention back to this forgotten gem.
But frankly for a game like Queen’s Blade, I just couldn’t care less. If you for whatever reason simply have no standards and wish to engage in this collaborative event, feel free to start playing HERE.
