Activision are really adding validation to the “dead internet theory”.
Despite universal outcry regarding the poor quality of the latest Call of Duty entry, Activision are desperate to proclaim that the latest release of “Modern Warefare III” has been its largest success yet, despite player numbers (via Steam) plummeting right after its launch window.
We’ve gone to such great lengths to bastardize this latest COD release, which is nothing more than a glorified 200 GB DLC package that’s built entirely on recycling assets with a woeful 3 hour long campaign.
With players abandoning the game in droves it certainly comes as no surprise to myself to witness that countless players are reporting strange and unusual circumstances occurring during their game sessions.
One of the major grievances players have with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the SBMM or “Skill Based Match Making” that has proven to be a financial benefit to Activision by essentially pairing you up against other players relatively around your skill level / KD Ratio ensuring peace and prosperity for the middle aged retards who continually purchase Call of Duty every single year who seemingly have no concept of “reaction time”.
What this also means is that if you’re a competitive player, like myself, you’re essentially put into “sweaty” lobbies with other players who are also decent at the game, YouTubers and content creators alike really hate the concept of skill based matchmaking because it increases difficulties and frustration in trying to churn out an impressive score from the matches they play for video recordings.
These people just want to have “fun” and there’s nothing more fun than playing against the physically disabled and going 50-1 on the scoreboard of course, so obviously these sapless zoomers have discovered ways of rigging the SBMM.
They reverse boost. Essentially playing the game, killing themselves over and over again, tarnishing their KD Ratio, score per minute, or whatever else Activision harvest to match players with others, simply so they can all play against those with a far lower skill ceiling.
While all that shit is currently going on inside of MW3, many players are reporting strange situations of unusual and unhuman behavior while playing matchmaking.
Claims of AI bots infiltrating the online multiplayer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have inundated the game’s subreddit. These allegations prompted YouTuber Blame Truth – The CODfather to create a video highlighting the unusual activities observed in the game.
While some online games, like Fortnite, incorporate bots into online matches, neither Sledgehammer Games nor Activision has officially disclosed such information to the fans of Modern Warfare 3 and nor would they ever considering the nature of the allegations.
Players are encountering unusual lobbies during off-peak hours of gameplay, specifically in game modes that aren’t as popular, such as Hardcore matches and subsets of that.
They’re complaining about being matched with individuals who have generic almost preset like names and credentials, who seemingly perform as if they have an infant behind the controller or are rage hacking.
This comes as no real shock to me as I’ve honestly believed that Activision has had something like this for quite awhile now, at least since 2019’s initial Modern Warfare reboot no less. Plugging public lobbies with bots during off-peak hours and unpopular game modes to either flush out the lobby as a whole or rather to use them as a means of configuring player metrics for skill based matchmaking.
Because these sorts of bot accounts are allegedly leaving the game before it finishes as well, adding more mystery to the whole ordeal.
The “COD Father” as he calls himself has made several videos on the matter, sharing video footage of bizarre and unusual circumstances of what players percieve to be botted lobbies, filled with AI bots essentially turning the PVP aspect in COD to that of a PVE game instead.
Players are coming into contact with individuals with seemingly AI generated names, short and simplistic such as “JOKER, VODKA, GOLDEN, BAZOOKA.” and when trying to delve more into these supposed “players” in the in-game menu from its recently met list, the name of these such accounts simply go blank.
The names of these supposed players are either short and sweet or simply just an amalgamation of letters and numbers, very formulaic and very unnatural to say the least.
Sledgehammer and or Activision is quietly implementing AI bots in online matches to boost the egos of its players and make them want to play more and hopefully, spend more if they’re willing.
Nevertheless, as with any technological implementation, there have been instances where the “COD Father’s” recent video has uncovered compelling evidence of artificial intelligence posing as actual players, revealing occasional glitches in the system.
In his most recent video, he highlights these purported bot accounts experiencing significant glitches. Numerous players within a match, all on the same team as the individual recording, seemingly the only real person within the lobby as a whole.
All of the accounts in the game share strikingly similar names and even exhibit a synchronized behavioral inputs. They make no genuine attempts at playing the game individually. Instead, they seem to function collectively, mimicking actions and inputs like a cohesive hivemind.
While the players team seemingly gitters backwards like one gigantic lump, the accounts on the enemy team aren’t playing as if they are controlled by an actual human, with barely any actual perception or aim, rather half of them are simply idle or running around aimlessly hilariously failing to shoot the one recording.
And then the most miraculous thing happens, the entire enemy team seemingly disconnects all at the same time, followed up by all members of his team leaving the following second. All in unison just like their movements.
The second clip showcases another alleged bot lobby, this one is at least somewhat functioning, unlike the gun held by the one recording which for whatever reason is hilariously invisible, this lobby for instance features bot accounts with Chinese names, the exact same name no less.
I genuinely do mean that by the way, you can see the individuals “wAvE”, the one recording the footage, being paired up against INXX with the P.R.C clan tag, they’re both genuine individuals from a first glance but can you spot the outlier in this photo?
Throughout the lobby there are seven total accounts with the username of “淘 宝 光 头 妙 妙 屋” formalized from 1 to 16, exactly what would be the odds of encountering players inside the very same game that share identical names, let alone 淘 宝 光 头 妙 妙 屋1, 淘 宝 光 头 妙 妙 屋2, 淘 宝 光 头 妙 妙 屋3 and so onwards.
I’m convinced, the actions of these individuals are hilarious as well, they move around in a synthesized manner, either going directly straight or perfectly strafes left and right without even so much as moving their “cursor”.
And just like with the previous clip, the bots on the second clip spontaneously leave simultaneously however they’re soon replaced by actual players momentarily.
It’s clear as day that Activision are using AI bots to flush out the game when there simply isn’t enough real life players to fill out a whole lobby of ten, they outright refuse to talk about this whatsoever, most likely because it’s true and it’s highly likely that these bots are also being placed into regular matches to not only flush out the server but to collect player data and statistics to more accurately configure their account for skill based matchmaking.
Or this could be something else entirely, the duplicated movement across multiple accounts simultaneously, this could very well be some sort of user boosting of which the individual recording accidentally stumbled upon a boost lobby.
Call of Duty as a franchise is currently in the worst state that it has ever been in, it’s creatively bankrupt and morally bankrupt too given how the entire focus of the franchise is to continually shit out less and less with each subsequent release, charging more for the privilege, filled to the brim with heinous microtransactional content such as talking weapon trinkets or a fucking Niki Minaj operator bundle.
And now it has players genuinely believing that the game is filled to the brim with bots rather than real players, this could very well be a large scheme by Activision to outright lie to their investors regarding the amount of overall copies sold / players online if the player count for Call of Duty is being artificially inflated with players that are more artificial than intelligent.
