Under the guise of inclusivity, Niantic has rolled out a new update to Pokemon GO that eliminates gender “stereotypes” for user avatars, inadvertently depicting their players as unattractive hermaphrodites in the process.
Needless to say, players are furious.
The latest update for one of the world’s most popular mobile games doesn’t focus on addressing bugs, glitches, or adding new content. Instead, its aim is to embrace ESG policies by retroactively adjusting how user avatars are portrayed in-game.
This notably involves defeminizing female avatars, making them appear more masculine and androgynous.
Rather than expanding representation, Niantic’s new changes actively restrict self-expression by enforcing narrow standards that fail to satisfy either the existing Pokémon GO player base or those supposedly being catered to.
The removal of male and female categories entirely replaces diverse body types with a handful of androgynous, sexless templates. Hairstyle options, once available to all, are now divided into “masculine” and “feminine” categories, further marginalizing those who do not conform.
This particular update seems to cater to a very specific and niche audience, primarily narcissistic activists who harbor disdain for attractive women, beauty, and femininity. Their own insecurities about their appearance translate into a desire to suppress others’ expressions because they believe “real women” only exist in a certain mold.
An ugly mold.
Despite boasting tens of millions of active players, it might come as a surprise that a significant portion of Pokemon GO’s player base comprises real-world women. However, Niantic’s attempt to impose their “inclusive” genderless approach is subjecting these women to ridicule.
By retroactively altering their avatars, flattening their features, adjusting chest, shoulder, and hip ratios, effectively erasing any semblance of femininity from female avatars.
It goes without saying that this update has been met with widespread disdain from the player base. Female players, in particular, feel disenfranchised as they can no longer create avatars that truly reflect their self-image.
Their avatars have been nullified by developers prioritizing politics over player enjoyment. Customization options have become severely limited, resulting in universally unappealing in-game depictions.
It’s worth noting that Nintendo of America recently posted a job opening for localization, with explicit requirements for “understanding cultural adaptation” and “DEI.”
These decisions were not made in isolation. Niantic has clearly signaled its intention to use Pokémon GO as a platform for promoting ESG political agendas over entertaining its customers.
Why else would they strip away customization and restrict choices if not to advance a predetermined agenda? This agenda blatantly eradicates femininity from the game, mirroring what Nintendo has done with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Speaking of genderless and woke depictions in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, just under a month ago, the Pokémon Company reaffirmed its commitment to woke indoctrination by seeking to hire a “director of diversity.”
Twitter is awash with angry players, predominately women who are being forced to endure their in-game avatar being transformed into a masculine monstrosity, all while Niantic advocate that these changes are made so your avatar “can look even more like YOU” which is fucking hysterical.
This is yet another glaring example of the damage inflicted by DEI and ESG initiatives. They infect games with progressive ugliness and, most importantly, alienate their audience, especially female players who don’t want to play as ugly masculine genderless caricatures.
Now, these players feel compelled to conceal their avatars with full-body suits to distract themselves from Niantic’s unnecessary androgynous update.
Pokémon GO shouldn’t serve as a platform for broadcasting developer ideology or earning additional ESG scoring, it exists to bring joy and fulfillment to players. However, this update caters solely to virtue signal, neglecting the millions of players who contribute to Niantic’s success by enforcing DEI abominations upon them.
How long will it take for these players to realize they’re not valued customers but rather they’re the unwilling subjects of an ideological takeover?
I doubt Niantic will reverse this update. Doing so would not only nullify their positive ESG scoring, but it could also worsen their standing with BlackRock’s forced compliance of progressive ideologies and behaviors. No amount of buzzwords and supposed “representation” will ever change the fact that Pokemon GO players are outraged, both male and female.
