There’s a lot that the modern game developer can learn from Pupuya Games and their niche golden goose, Little Witch Nobeta. For starters, Pupuya Games actually understands their target audience and caters towards them exclusively.
Such a disgusting concept I know, game companies actually pandering to their actual player base instead of delusional Californian front fringes? Such a foreign concept in today’s world considering how AAA gaming has rapidly devolved into catering exclusively to woke ESG hedge funds over actual paying customers.
Pupuya Games has garnered respect and admiration from its player base for simply not kneeling before censorship puritans, though of course continually posting memes and saucy softcore artwork featuring Little Witch Nobeta characters on social media is a massive contribution to their newfound fame and fortune for their game.
Little Witch Nobeta made its debut as an Early Access title on Steam on June 2020. The full game made its full release globally on September 29th 2022 thanks to the publishing assistance of Idea Factory International.
Pupuya Games know exactly what their players want and they’re more than happy to provide just that for them, with frequent free updates being made to the Little Witch Nobeta game adding in new unlockable in-game costumes and more, many such costume additions were actually voted for by fans on Twitter polls before making their debut in-game.
The game itself is simplistic yet addictive, a third person action shooter dungeon crawler involving magic, cute girls with soulslike difficulty, well worth your time if you’re into something like that.
And now Idea Factory have announced Little Witch Nobeta’s free upcoming Patch 1.1.2 for Sony PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch consoles which will include new story dialogue giving the game more immersive narrative alongside new costumes with several being unlockable in-game combined with a new DLC costume bundle.
For $6.99 you can purchase the DLC pack providing several costumes such as the “Dragon Princess, Knitted Uniform and Land Mine Girl”.
Other additions include the Trail Tower mode, which made its way onto PC back in September.
The Trail Tower game mode is essentially a “Boss Rush” that challenges players to conquer all the game’s bosses in rapid succession, and it’s via this new game mode where you’ll be able to unlock the newly introduced free costumes as well.
Costumes such as the Bishop which is unlocked by completing the Trial Tower mode.
The Rook costume is unlocked by reaching max level for “All Magic” inside the Trail Tower mode, the Queen outfit is unlocked by completing the Trail Tower without once failing and the Little Black Cat costume which is also unlocked upon completion of the Trail Tower.
Patch 1.1.2 will go live on November 16th adding in a multitude of cuteness to the game for console players.
