An independent VTuber named “Kirsche” has been excluded from the Offkai Expo, resulting in the cancellation of her participation in a panel at the convention.
For those unfamiliar, the Offkai Expo is a convention centered around “VTubers,” which has been held since 2022. It has emerged as one of the leading VTuber conventions in the Western world, despite typically hosting a relatively modest physical attendance of approximately ~1,500 2,500 people annually.
Similar to many commercial ventures in the Western sphere, the OffKai Expo is likely managed and organized by individuals of left-leaning political views. The convention has previously collaborated with personalities like “Marina,” a transgender “lewd tuber” who exploited Twitch’s recent relaxed regulations by openly promoting full-body nudity.
In addition to its past collaboration with Marina, the OffKai Expo, scheduled for May 31st to June 2nd this year, will host a diverse array of guests from various agencies like V-Dere, Mythos, VShojo, HololiveEN, PhaseConnect, and even OperaGX, apparently, even the Chinese spyware browser feels the need to connect with younger generations by featuring a VTuber mascot.
Besides VTubers affiliated with agencies, the expo will showcase independent personalities as well. One such independent, Kirsche, was scheduled to attend as a guest this year. However, her ban effectively bars her from participating in any official capacity.
While the official OffKai account insists it’s not a “blacklist” and she’s free to attend or participate in other capacities, canceling her panel is arguably one of the most audacious and damaging actions an organizer can take against an aspiring VTuber at a convention dedicated to VTubers.
The rationale behind her ban is straightforward. Progressives frequently exhibit an extreme form of intolerance, perceiving differing viewpoints as a contagion rather than engaging in constructive dialogue or respectful disagreement. Rather than participating in healthy debate or choosing to ignore dissenting voices, they aim to eradicate any social standing and subject individuals to scrutiny for deviating from their ideological standpoint on various matters.
In simpler terms, Kirsche has been vocal about discussing the issues affecting modern society, particularly concerning Larry Fink’s “forced behaviors” ESG agenda and DEI initiatives.
ESG is more or less a forced corporate compliance of woke ideologies and diversity by the massive commercial entity of the BlackRock investment company with over $10 trillion in assets, ultimately harms the media we cherish, from movies and TV shows to video games.
Instead of creating content for fans and audiences, products are now crafted with a heavy focus on race and sexual orientation to maximize “inclusivity” while ensuring they offend no one, particularly those in the LGBT community.
Kirsche has also emphasized the evolving nature of ESG, seeing as how ESG-backed hedge funds continue to fail, Larry’s initiative will undergo a rebranding to “BRIDGE” (Belonging, Representation, Inclusion, Diversity Gap, and Equity).
Kirsche, upon learning of her panel cancellation at Offkai, reached out to event organizers seeking clarification. She engaged with the official Offkai Twitter account, and subsequently conversed with “Lysander,” this year’s event director.
Lysander stated that her presence on a panel had made several staff members uncomfortable. As Offkai is a volunteer-run event that highly prioritizes the mental well-being of its volunteers, her panel appearance was terminated accordingly.
Kirsche shared direct messages from Discord with Lysander, who emphasized that Offkai had over a hundred individuals dedicated to making the event a success, all of whom were purportedly volunteers. Lysander pointed out that most of the Offkai staff members are based in California, a place known for its left-leaning parasitic inhabitants and where many progressive corporations are headquartered. Notably, Sony Interactive Entertainment is also based in California.
Lysander then proclaimed that a string of screenshots taken from tweets made by Kirsche were the main cause of concern for the volunteers and why they were uncomfortable with hosting such an individual as herself on a panel at their expo.
This is the reason for her ban. Her series of tweets included playful jabs at the Lettuce Guacamole Bacon and Tomato (LGBT) community. In response to comedian Sam Hyde’s joke tweet about hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which was likely in reference to a male-to-female transgender athlete breaking records in women’s sports, Kirsche humorously asked when Sam would win his own women’s weightlifting competition.
Other tweets that seemed to stir controversy with event organizers, particularly when she humorously referred to the expanding acronym of the LGBTQ+ community as “LGBTQQIP2SAA” (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pansexual, Two-Spirit, Asexual, and Ally). She added a playful twist by noting that in Canada, it’s referred to as “2SLGBTQI+” with the plus sign representing individuals who identify as part of sexual and gender diverse communities.
This lighthearted take seemed to poke fun at the ever-growing acronym for the LGBT movement.
She also posted several tweets about pronouns, expressing gratitude to YouTube for adding pronouns to creator profiles. In a playful nod to her “Italian heritage,” she humorously used the pronoun “ey 🤌” accompanied by a pinched fingers emoji, referencing a common Italian stereotype.
And of course, there were her tweets concerning DEI initiatives and Larry Fink’s ESG agenda. She remarked that forced diversity and inclusivity initiatives weren’t disappearing but instead rebranding as BRIDGE. Following up on that, she tweeted, “We’re still in the war, we can win, but we need to stay vigilant and not rest on laurels that don’t even exist.”
She also mentioned in a tweet how her Twitter account was denied ad revenue privileges due to these controversies.
While some might find her humor amusing, the fact remains that Kirsche was banned from the Offkai Expo simply because some volunteer workers took offense to her tweets. As a personality on social media platforms like Twitter and Twitch, she constantly finds herself walking on eggshells.
It seems she must conform to social standards and political correctness etiquette. Differing opinions are apparently not allowed, especially when it comes to criticizing the infiltration of activist and progressive ideology into modern games and movies, backed by colossal corporate entities like BlackRock.
You’re not allowed to point fingers at the obvious, you must comply with political correctness or be canceled.
In her video response, Kirsche consistently asserts that her statements weren’t hateful and were, at worst, misunderstood or taken out of context. This becomes apparent, especially when considering the tendency of some individuals to portray themselves as perpetual victims, often centering their entire identity around their sexuality.
When she proposed the idea that staff who disagreed with her could simply opt out of assisting with the panel she was scheduled to participate in, she was met with the explanation that because Offkai’s staff are volunteers, it would be challenging for them to separate their personal feelings from their roles, leading to a stalemate with no clear resolution.
It’s truly disheartening. Despite her bravery in addressing critical issues that many shy away from, she now faces the consequence of having her expo appearance revoked because certain event volunteers took exaggerated offense to her jokes, possibly portraying them as transphobic or homophobic to higher-ups.
The fact that her tweets on ESG and DEI were singled out as problematic speaks volumes about the character of these volunteers.
While Kirsche faces a ban over “spicy” tweets, the Offkai Expo will showcase politically neutral non-binary lewd tubers like El_XoX, who are granted panel hosting privileges. Flaunting and employing a seductive voice during streams apparently earn accolades and panel opportunities.
However, expressing dissent against the infiltration of woke ideologies in video games, with games as a whole being an essential avenue for VTubers, is apparently grounds for outright exclusion.
