The visual novel “Hookah Haze,” in which you manage a hookah bar and form bonds with your customers, is scheduled for release on July 11. A demo version will be available on Steam starting June 11.
The game features a protagonist with limited time left, running a hookah bar and engaging with the eccentric patrons.
We last featured Hookah Haze back in February, I as per usual was enamored with its lovely pixel artwork, however during the INDIE Live Expo which was held yesterday, it was announced that the unique visual novel will release on PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch handheld on July 11th.
The game is set in the year 2xxx, in a hookah bar called “Hookah Haze” located in Akihabara, managed by the protagonist, Toru Sumiki. After being diagnosed with a terminal illness, Sumiki decides to spend his remaining time running the hookah bar.
Through this endeavor, he connects with a variety of unique female customers, including Amu Aigami, a maid café worker; Kokoro Meigetsuin, a shop clerk with hidden traumas; and Kurumi Komori, a doll maker who struggles with social interactions.
Players can recommend flavors on social media and serve them to customers. The chosen flavors influence the type of customers that visit, the story’s outcome, and the available choices as the girls gradually open up and connect with you over your fondness for hookah.
“Hookah Haze” is set to dazzle PC and Nintendo Switch players with its pixelated heroines on July 11. A demo, featuring an original story not included in the main game, will be available exactly one month earlier on June 11. To get the full experience, make sure to play the demo first.
