Publisher Aniplex and developer ACQUIRE unveiled the newest footage of “Hookah Haze” on February 14th. Set for a release on Nintendo Switch/ and PC via Steam sometime in 2024, the game’s “Adventure Part Introduction Video” showcases fresh scenes from the game.
The recently unveiled “Adventure Part Introduction Video” offers a sneak peek into the storyline of this game. Accompanied by intricate pixel art illustrations, it presents scenes of heroines enjoying moments at the hookah lounge with various interactions.
Furthermore, the video features a scene where Amu Aigami is seen hurrying into the shop. It’s anticipated that the video will also portray their situations with the use of CG effects.
The theme song for Hookah Haze, titled “Hookah, Whoo!”, is performed by Aitsuki Nakuru. The sound production and lyrics are by the VOCALOID composer DECO*27, with composition and arrangement by tepe.
Hookah Haze is an unique ADV visual novel where the main character, having lost all hope, serves as the manager of a hookah lounge while delving into the true emotions of the main heroines.
The tale unfolds within the confines of Hookah Haze, situated in the outskirts of Akihabara in the distant future. The protagonist, Toru Sumiki, is a 25-year-old who puts others before himself due to an inability to seek his own happiness, his spirit dimmed by a life-threatening illness.
He takes on the role of lounge manager for a brief period following discussions with a doctor. Through his managerial duties, he encounters heroines in search of belonging, gradually uncovering their genuine sentiments.
Notable characters include Amu Aigami, a novelty cafe employee, Meigetsuin Kokoro, a polite store clerk with a past trauma and Kurumi Komori, a doll maker. As hookah smoke fills the air, a poignant human drama unfolds.
Tooru Sumiki, the main character, manages the hookah lounge as its proprietor. He blends fragrances from five distinct flavors to craft hookah experiences.
These flavors range from sweet and revitalizing fruits to dessert-like indulgences. Moreover, he oversees the changing of charcoal, where reactions may vary based on temperature adjustments. The varied hookah offerings are tailored to suit the heroines’ specific orders and preferences.
“Hookah Haze” is set to be released in 2024 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
