When it comes to localizers of Japanese media, you think that you hate them enough already for interjecting cringe slang and other obscene bullshit into their “inclusive” work but the truth is that we simply don’t want these vermin enough.
I’ve gone on about this such subject over and over and goddamn over again because it keeps fucking happening every single time.
Just like how Baten Kaitos HD Remaster randomly includes “Yikes” into a “problematic” scene, how DMM Games through their sock puppet publishing firm, Shiravune continues to spit in the face of eroge consumers with their heinous western slang-filled slop in the form of NUKITASHI 1 and 2.
We simply can no longer trust any Japanese material that has been translated for western audiences, simply because these gutless corporations would rather continually employing cancerous feminist translators such as Katrina Leonoudakis.
These worthless sacks of shit have no purpose in life outside of tarnishing Japanese material at its source to suit “modern audiences” of blue-haired feminists with crippling depression, they hate your fucking guts and they’re going to let you know about it in their “work”, they have no actual talent in their occupation and they have the freedom to deviate from the script entirely especially if the scene or context is “misogynistic” or other things that they consider to be troubling.
These “translators” hate you, they hate the content that they work on and they absolutely hate everything that Japanese “misogynist” anime stands for, it’s a conspiracy that many projects that feature malicious / progressive localized translations end up being commercial bombs.
Tt might have something to do with the fact that the actual core audience for many such material don’t want to be forced fed inclusive nonsense that either deviates away from the source material or interjects western slang and buzzwords that destroy immersion and sparks consumer enragement, but I’d probably be slandered as a racist for pointing that out.
Another game that seemingly doesn’t want actual money from western fans is Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which has been found to contain a whole load of barbaric English translations that goes entirely off-script versus the original Japanese release via the usage of cringeworthy western buzzwords and memes.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a 2.5D fighting game based upon the JRPG Granblue Fantasy franchise, with this particular installment being developed by the infamous Arc System, who we’ve previously discussed in regards to them continually butchering the Guilty Gear franchise with subversive character re-designs that go against their initial concept as well as retroactively re-writing its cannon to appease woke crowds of fake fans.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is published by Cygames, however its development being handled by ArcSys was already a tremendous start for failure, as it all seemingly went wrong when a user on Twitter posted the opening cutscene for a battle featuring Anila and Lowain, with Lowain being accompanied by his brothers Tommy (Tomoi) and Sammy (Erusamu).
With the western localization of the game forcefully interjecting western buzzwords, slang and references into its script, with the cutscene featuring lines such as “Peep this”, “good vibes”, “I want to touchy-touchy” and the worst offence, “Simper, no Simping” which is an homage to Dora the Explorer’s “Swiper, no Swiping”.
A reference to a western children’s TV show, this goes to show the sort of mental maturity we’re dealing with here from these localizer hacks.
Surely you’d imagine that the original source material didn’t feature such barbaric out of place references to children’s TV shows from a bygone era, and you’d be right on the money,
The phrase “peep this” does not exist in the original Japanese version; instead, the characters say “Ohazassu,” a rough form of “good morning.”
The term “touchy-touchy” is not used; instead, they say “mofuritee,” which means “I want to stroke (something fluffy).” “Ima no naashi” roughly means “forget what I said” and has no connection to western slang such as “simping”, especially the line “simper, no simping” which once again is purely a western reference to Dora the Explorer and nothing more. Probably to see how far these malicious assholes could get away with.
Similar bullshit can be found in the dialogue for the pre-match cutscene between Lowain and Nier.
Throughout the cutscene, western slang and buzzwords such as “YIKES” and “yandere waifu” are featured throughout the short 30 second clip and it goes without saying that you’re not going to find equivalent lines being mentioned in the Japanese rendition.
While some critics attempted to justify the localization by citing it somehow resonates with the characters’ personalities regardless of deviating as far away as possible from the original script, it remains a fact that the translation completely alters the original lines and that any such morons defending such actions rightfully deserved to be shamed on social media.
The English localization of GBVSR actually goes far beyond precarious memes and western lingo, it’s far worse than that actually as it can be perceived as being overtly sexual or downright racist.
Another instance of localization absurdity comes to light in a specific dialogue involving the aforementioned Lowain, as shared by Twitter user iuntue. The image highlights significant changes from the original Japanese script.
The scene has a flirtatious tone, with Lowain praising the beauty, particularly the white skin, of Ferry by comparing it to snow.
Seemingly harmless, right? Well, the translator for the English audience seems to have injected some personal agenda into the scene. Considering the characters involved, Lowain, Tommy, and Sammy, all with darker skin tones. The English localization can be interpreted as either a sexual innuendo or potentially racist.
The original praise for Ferry’s beauty and white skin is replaced with the line “you ladies could stand to cash in on some vitamin D“. which needless to say deviates as far from the original script as much as the Dora the Explorer “meme” seen above.
Given the flirtatious context of the source material, one might interpret this as a sexual reference, as “vitamin D” can be colloquially associated with Dick, this would no doubt be promoting interracial relations seemingly out of left field, so it’s likely the translator may have a fetish for that.
On the other hand, it could also be perceived as an insult to fair skin color as an inappropriate suggestion for both women to get more sunlight and darken their complexion.
Exactly what the translating hack was thinking as they made this is unknown, it’s either an insult to fair skin color or a sexual inuendo, both options are highly possible given the progressive feministic nature of “professional” translators in this industry.
Because AI generative translations handled by the likes of ChatGPT are getting more and more accurate by the day, and much like how the English voice acting society of entitled brats alongside shill media journalists are continually getting offended by the prospects of being replaced by robotic generation / voice synthetization.
I for one condone the usage of developers employing AI translations for their games instead of hiring despiteful pieces of shit that seemingly only want to push progressive anti-White undertones and deviate entirely off-script with Dora the Explorer memes because that’s “totes relatable bro”.
Generative AI translations are undeniably more reliable and truer to the source material than these supposed professional paid translators could ever produce, and thankfully the power of generative AI doesn’t go out of its way to maliciously insert bogus memes and woke identity politics into its translations either.
Just in case you needed additional reasoning to avoid purchasing this game with your money, the game prohibits you from looking up ones skirt inside of the Photo Mode, replacing panties with an ominous black void. You can however easily patch this with Zai’s uncensored mod
