Square Enix and Respawn Entertainment have unveiled a crossover event set to arrive in Apex Legends, commemorating the impending launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The crossover event is scheduled to kick off next week, starting on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and will extend for a duration of three weeks. Throughout this period, the unranked battle royale mode in Apex Legends will be temporarily replaced by the Final Fantasy VII Takeover mode.
In the upcoming mode, players will wield the Buster Sword R2R5, enabling them to dash, block bullets, and unleash powerful Limit Break attacks. The mode introduces “Materia Hop-Ups” offering effects like area-of-effect lightning attacks or health absorption. Additionally, a SOLDIER Nashe is introduced
For those wanting to embody the theme, new skins are available for Wattson, Horizon, Wraith, Crypto, and others:
Crypto as Cloud
Horizon as Aerith
Newcastle as Barret
Valkyrie as Yuffie
Wattson in a Moogle hat and pink coat
Wraith as Tifa
And it certainly has to be said, much akin to how Call of Duty absolutely butchered the likeness and femininity of Lara Croft, with the western staple of progressive so called “realistic” depictions of a woman. This collaboration between EA’s main cash cow and Square Enix’s only cash cow is absolutely terrifying.
It may as well be deemed illegal for western game developers to design and incorporate feminine features and character designs into their game, because of course this is exactly what BlackRock and Vanguard want these corporations to do.
Attractive women in video games aren’t only sexist but they outright will cause your corporate ESG score to drop, and while “sex crazed perverts” won’t buy your game, crucially your company will receive less arbitrary hedge fund “donations” if you were to incorporate White, feminine characters into your product. What you need to do in order to succeed as a business isn’t to actually listen to your audience but rather do as you are told.
And what we’re telling you to do is incorporate androgynous character designs, ugly pig-faced “women” and as much gender / racial diversity as humanely possible into your product to ensure the maximum amount of ESG allotment. Boobs and femininity are strictly prohibited.
Much akin to how Overwatch is for Activision, Apex Legends is the live service sensation of Electronic Arts that continually provides immense funding while providing absolutely nothing to the gaming landscape outside of microtransactional rubbish.
When Activision Blizzard is in a spot of bother with regular cases of sexual misconduct, they scapegoat their antics by simply providing the Overwatch community with another homosexual / non-binary character and all is well with the world.
Electronic Arts is a big believer in the concept of Environmental, Social Governance.
To rest assured that a plethora of characters inside of their free-to-play GaaS shooter are going to be meeting the right criteria, with the character of Valkyrie, who’ll have a Yuffie costume identifying as being a lesbian for starters, alongside at least six other characters that are either homosexual, bisexual, non-binary or pansexual.
Electronic Arts is such a progressive company, players are getting banned inside of Apex Legends for uttering such vulgar profanity in-game such as the phrase “shut the fuck up”.
So rest assured that Electronic Arts won’t be allowing Square Enix with their feminine character designs extend into Apex Legends.
The announcement trailer for the collaboration is barely two minutes long and yet it’s more horrifying than any horror movie I’ve ever seen, specifically at the 1:12 mark where we’re greeted that what’s supposedly meant to be Aerith in Apex Legends and yet looks more like ProJared in drag.
I have to give EA some credit at least, the resemblance is uncanny, it truly does look just like how Aerith does inside of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, only if she was aged up about forty years, became a vegan and happened to resort to meth in her later life.
Ultimately this is just another reason to hate Western game developers because they sure as shit hate everything that you hold dear, femininity is objectified by parasitic vermin on social media, endlessly proclaiming themselves to be the victim of the “male gaze” because a fictious video game character happens to be attractive.
Attractive women in video games is apparently misogynism, EA is a firm believer in the concept of ESG, their entire goal is to be as un-problematic in a political sense as possible, they’ll jump on any and all bandwagons to adhere to the general public because a mega corporation supports my ideals, my ideology.
Therefore I must play Apex Legends and spend real life money obtaining “Apex Coins”, a virtual in-game currency so that I can purchase event packs and buy the Aerith skin for Horizon inside of Apex Legends.
I hope Electronic Arts is compensating Square Enix adequately for bastardizing such an iconic character by stabbing Aerith with the ugly sword of ESG.
