How’s that online only live service mantra working out for you gamers? Doing away with physical copies, where your games have essentially become a license of activation locked exclusively to various online accounts has only benefited the industry right?
Well, if you’re a crazed feminists from the confinement of California you’d be right on the money that an all digital future has benefitted the gaming industry as a whole, however if you’re per say, an actual consumer who actually plays video games you’re more or less screwed no matter where you go now.
Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net, even major console manufacturers are pushing the all digital live service bullshit with various forms of subscription services where your games are all interconnected and tied to a singular account, if you’re someone who never steps a foot wrong or speak out of line no harm will come to you (for now).
However if you speak your mind, say something profound or offensive, your account is getting banned and all of your games will simply vanish into the ether.
Companies such as Microsoft, Sony, Activision and Electronic Arts have been clamping down on the profanity that goes on inside their games from so called “problematic” and “racist” users, just about everything falls under the trope of “hate speech” and harassment these days, such as an unfortunate victim who shared their EA Games’ permanent ban for simply saying “STFU” during a game of Apex Legends.
This is just the consequences of an all digital future, locking your games behind an always online DRM disguised as a storefront / subscription service from ESG ladled corporations that push and promote feminist ideologies.
They pander exclusively to leftists in the games that they produce, so it makes perfect sense as to how they’d be staffed by sensitive “gender studies” graduates, for lack of a better term the rest of the internet call these mindless woke zombies “jannies”.
The post has since gone viral, no surprise there considering how someone had their entire EA account basically nuked for “harassment” by simply saying “shut the fuck up” inside a video game.
Previously, EA’s moderation team have been doing absolute wonders in banning “problematic” individuals who say anything besides “GGWP” or flattery bullshit, with Japanese players having been banned for saying “nigero” (逃げろ) for reasons you’d probably understand given how close that particular word sounds to a rather notorious racial slur, except in the case of Japanese individuals the word nigero / 逃げろ simply means to run or flee.
THEVAN3D insists that he received only one prior ban, also related to chat messages, while some argue it follows a three-strike system, I don’t really know nor do I really care, even if it was a three strike system the fact that someone simply got pegged for “harassment” for saying STFU inside a video game leading to a third strike and permanent ban from that particular EA account is absurd.
THEVAN3D claims that this was only their second ban, with their previous one a temporary suspension for writing ‘xtfu’ – misspelling the intended ‘stfu’ which got them banned.
Another gamer shared that they faced a permanent ban across all EA games for typing “Mfs trash” in the in-game chat. This, however, marked their third strike for messaging violations, but even still. In the so called “current year” it’s problematic and offensive to simply trash talk others inside online competitive video games, users are now getting account violations for the most asinine bullshit imaginable.
EA mandates that all players adhere to their “positive play charter,” covering aspects like respect, fairness, clean content, and compliance with local laws.
EA explicitly mentions that violating these rules may result in “restrictions on your account” or even the removal of access to certain or all EA Services.
I mean seriously, this petty “trash talk” is now resulting in permanent account bans and the potential for players to lose access to the games they’ve paid for, or at the very least lose the ability to play them online, I genuinely do love how the EA messages themselves are designed in such a manner that suggests that you the player have done something illegal too like a government takedown notice.
These pathetic leftist swines would certainly have a panic attack had they been exposed to actual in-game banter back in the golden era of online gaming, on Call of Duty and Halo, but now simply calling the enemy “trash” is enough to land a violation.
Essentially every single one of these large gaming tyrants such as Electronic Arts only want loyal consumers such as paypig whales who’ll pay top dollar for worthless expansion packs and battle passes, censorship puritan enablers whose lips seemingly aren’t able to be detached away from EA’s asshole, and of course the woke brigade of feminists and Twitter enthusiasts.
Actual gamers are offensive and need to be punished, the only problem being when they are punished as the fine line between right and wrong seemingly sways further and further away from racial slurs to simply saying “shut the fuck up”, only once they’re banned do they start to understand that they’ve backed the wrong horse in allowing these godforsaken corporations to take away their games, their rights of ownership and freedom of speech.
