Capcom continues their tirade of retroactively incorporating encrypted DRM solutions to their back catalogue for the soul purpose of breaking compatibility and deterring individuals from modifying the game.
We previously reported on how Capcom previously introduced the Engima Protector DRM inside of Resident Evil Revelations with its latest patch before and now the infamous Monster Hunter series is their latest target.
For quite some time now, Capcom has demonized the whole concept of game modding in its entirety, classifying game mods such as model swaps to be “cheating”. Trying to validate their claims on account of individuals modifying their game and contacting Capcom support to resolve issues which of course is just retarded corporate stretching to justify their anti-consumer practices.
Capcom’s games of late on the PC platform have been very favorable to the modding community, who quickly and effortlessly introduced various fun and erotic modifications to their recent crop of Resident Evil titles based on the new RE Engine.
But of course, pretty women goes against the constructs of ESG, of which Capcom is a big believer, hence why they’ve gone above and beyond in pushing progressive ideologies and character designs across their recently released games.
Which is why Capcom are now abusing their paying customers by retroactively introducing severe DRM solutions in games that have released years ago, simply to crack down on game modifications with the bonus of breaking compatibility through game crashes alongside reduced framerates and performance due to the invasiveness of the Enigma Protector DRM.
Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak saw the discreet addition of the cancerous Engima DRM in an update intended to remove previously introduced downloadable content such as the “Collab DLC” which introduced new quests and the addition of prominent franchises such as Sonic the Hedgehog trinkets and in-game costumes for a limited time.
The update was supposed to remove access to the specific licensed DLC, which included costumes tied to Sonic the Hedgehog and Universal Studios. However, game modders such as Twitter user “Fluffyquack” quickly discovered that the update also introduced the heinous Engima Protector DRM, known to negatively impact the performance of games it’s applied to and restrict the modification of game files.
Moreover, the inclusion of DRM has resulted in compatibility issues with Steam Deck, prompting Capcom to issue another apology and investigate the problems, similarly to how the inclusion of the DRM broke Resident Evil Revelations for many players, resulting in the patch being removed temporarily.
The introduction of DRM has sparked a wave of negative reviews for Monster Hunter Rise. Coupled with the recent increase in concurrent players for Monster Hunter World following the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds, this situation has the potential to undermine the game’s newfound resurgence.
At this point the answer is quite obvious, Capcom simply hates your fucking guts and wishes for you to stop modifying their games, games of which you supposedly paid for.
Hence why they are taking drastic action to stop you from modifying game files, introducing invasive DRM solutions that reduce actual performance, because model swaps are the “same as cheating”.
Here’s a tip for you.
You are not forced to update a game that you’ve pirated. If Capcom wishes to enforce their bullshit ESG-centric policies amongst paying customers, you are not accountable for having to take appropriate action against corporate tyranny by telling them to go fuck themselves with your own wallet.
If you are still paying for Capcom products you are undoubtably the problem, continually funding anti-consumer business practices will undoubtably make the situation a whole lot worse. If they’re going to treat actual PAYING customers like invasive ingrates by retroactively introducing DRM solutions to stop you from modifying the game that you’ve paid for then there’s no real need to give Capcom additional incentive.
Stop paying for their progressive dogshit and start sailing the high seas instead.
