Additionally, the familiar setting of “Sagami City” from Death end re;Quest returns as the game’s story setting. Various incidents unfold, prompting Saya and the player, her partner, to investigate. The city hosts numerous fully voice-acted conversation events, totaling over 12,000 lines.
To resolve these incidents, players may explore various strain areas known as dungeons. They can harness the power of the enigmatic Ludens “Snark,” lurking in the subway. Even if they leave a dungeon or return to Sagami City after perishing, they can retry from their last checkpoint.
As the narrative progresses, additional locations become accessible. Players can revisit cleared dungeons to gather items or aim for higher scores.
In Death end re;Quest Code Z, a roguelike departure from previous installments, players can customize Sayaka’s weaponry at a cafe managed by Levin. They can also enhance abilities by acquiring skill points, earned by reaching the “Death End.”
With each playthrough, players grow stronger even in death, accumulating skill points to invest in the “Death End Skill Tree.”
Depending on the game’s difficulty level, some items may be reset when reaching the death end. However, an in-game “closet” feature provides a solution: you can store acquired items in Sayaka and Shina’s room, ensuring they are not reset upon reaching the death end.
Furthermore, inside their shared room, players have access to a photo mode where they can arrange figures on the screen to create custom scenery. Choose backgrounds and characters, then pose them in various ways to craft unique situations to your liking!
