During the “gaming” edition of the Oscars, otherwise known as the Game Awards, Christopher Judge of Stargate SG-1 fame and the voice behind Kratos in the God of War Reboot(s) hailed a funny jab towards Activision’s latest pile of garbage, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
Christopher Judge received the “Best Performance” award last year for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok. This year, he had the honor of being the celebrity guest to announce the winner for the “Best Performance” category in 2023.
Judge’s victory speech during the 2022 Game Awards broke the record for the longest acceptance speech in history, with the actor stumbling his words and failing to wrap it up in no less than 7 minutes and 59 seconds, breaking the previous record by just shy of 2 and a half minutes.
The voice actor for Kratos once again claimed a significant chunk of the show’s duration, but this time he reassured the audience at the commercialized “game award” show that he wouldn’t consume as much time this year.
Before briefly critiquing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, he humorously remarked that his acceptance speech from the previous year was “longer than this year’s Call of Duty campaign,” a statement not too far from reality.
At that instant, the remark struck a chord of humor, triggering hearty laughter from the audience. The Call of Duty campaign, which faced criticism for its duration of less than four hours.
According to Charlie Intel, the number one gurus for Call of Duty shilling and leaked rumors, various developers offered their individual perspectives in response to the situation.
Obviously, because in the modern era it’s offensive and childish to apparently criticize a bad product, a multitude of Call of Duty developers both current and former alongside other individuals who’ve worked on the game chimed in with their woefully ignorant takes by simply taking the joke to heart and getting butthurt over it.
If you needed any further validation as to why the Call of Duty of today is such dire garbage that caters exclusively to mindless child-like zombies this is your answer, compared to the titles made over a decade ago the Call of Duty games of today are made by pretentious liberals who not only are useless at their jobs but proactively hate the franchise that they themselves work on, hence the lazy developmental practices and reusing of assets.
But hey, I’m sure that sales figures on one of the world’s most popular IPs that continually produces inferior quality dogshit on a yearly basis means a whole lot more than a narrative driven single player experience, I don’t like either and yet even I can see through the bullshit excuses of COD developers.
If the developers of Call of Duty were transported back to a typical COD lobby from 2007-2012, they’d have a heart attack. The game franchise was notorious for profanity and racial slurs during that period. Today, it seems that Activision and company are aiming to address this issue by implementing profanity filters and AI software designed to identify and ban problematic and offensive individuals in-game.
The Call of Duty franchise used to have soul and passion that actually went into their creation, extensive and creative campaigns have since been replaced with garbage that seemingly has decreased in length, as the franchise continually recycles itself to maintain relevance as it can no longer establish new and intricate lore which is why they’ve effectively rebooted the entire Modern Warfare trilogy which is a far cry from the original trio.
Call of Duty is merely a vessel for microtransactional bullfuckery, dubious collaborations with other franchises, and celebrity cameos, aimed at exploiting younger audiences, much like Fortnite. Despite their coping in regards to “customer engagement” and “continual sales” from these developer hacks, they will never be able to create a truly immersive and comprehensive gaming experience ever again.
Because COD as a franchise is both morally and creatively bankrupt and yet, due to the lack of standards among modern audiences, such asinine dogshit has become more profitable than ever.
Because even the voice behind Captain Price, Barry Sloane joined in with the discussion, calling Christopher Judge a Clown over his harsh but fair joke aimed towards the soulless franchise made by developers who seemingly hate their own product.
Their responses only serve to make Call of Duty appear far worse by comparison, it’s comical actually. One would expect the creators of COD to have a better sense of humor and be more adept at handling jokes, because their entire franchise as a whole has become one big joke, built on the foundation of extorting minors with retarded microtransactions with limited time special “swag” at fast food chains.
The truth hurts, and these delusional developers have been facing more severe criticism from both journalists and players for over a decade. The franchise’s decline in terms of quality and enjoyment has been a long-standing issue. However, when an actor takes the stage during a scripted award ceremony for video games and delivers a one-liner, they appear genuinely offended, as if it has crossed an unwarranted line.
COD has evolved into a product crafted by sensitive liberals for a passive and unquestioning audience. The apparent inability to handle a joke suggests a sensitivity that extends beyond the realm of gaming, as if their entire existence is one extensive rolling punchline.
