Action Square has revealed plans to kick off the second open playtest for their dungeon exploration PvPvE game, “Dungeon Stalkers,” during the “Steam Next Fest” on Steam starting from February 5th.
The testing phase is scheduled to continue until February 12th.
“Dungeon Stalkers” is a multiplayer dungeon exploration game with a third-person perspective, nothing out of the ordinary however one unique characteristic has to be the blending of elements such as PvP (Player vs. Player) and PvE (Player vs. Environment) mechanics.
The game unfolds within a mysterious dungeon crafted by a witch. Players assume the roles of knights, thieves, or wizards and can either brave the dungeon alone or form parties of up to three members as they navigate the perilous environment, facing off against both formidable monsters and rival players, they must locate scattered portals to make their escape.
So basically, it’s an extraction-esk title.
Throughout their exploration, players encounter “Witch’s Curses,” events that intermittently disrupt their progress. These curses vary in effect, from direct attacks on players to debuff monsters. How players manage and leverage these curses is pivotal to their success in conquering the dungeon.
Additionally, alongside escape portals, there are gateways that trigger challenging boss battles upon activation. Emerging victorious in these encounters promises substantial rewards.
The true “reward” of Dungeon Stalkers undoubtedly lies with its developers, Studio HG, a part of Action Square based in South Korea. The reason behind this being a positive aspect is evident, as South Korea, unlike Japan, has yet to fully embrace globalization and BlackRock’s ESG policies.
Dungeon Stalkers showcases captivating character designs that modern games shy away from out of ESG profiteering and feministic fears.
The developers of Dungeon Stalkers have previously produced games such as the top-down action game “Metallic Child” and the VR shooting game “OVERTURN.” In November of last year, they conducted the initial open playtest for Dungeon Stalkers and have since made adjustments based on user feedback which have been integrated into this new playtest.
New features introduced for this playtest include in-game voice chat and a pin system for location indication, improving communication among teammates.
Furthermore, various additions such as new dungeon types, enemies, solo mode, and character costumes have been implemented. Moreover, user feedback is being welcomed through the official Discord server during this playtest. It seems that this communication with users will hopefully influence future game development.
However, if I were to make a specific request, it would undoubtedly be for the addition of optional hairstyles. I personally prefer female characters with feminine hairstyles such as longer hair.
