Blue Protocol is a free-to-play MMO RPG, it was announced during 2022’s The Game Awards ceremony and from the reveal trailer alone you could already tell that this game was going to be dead on arrivial.
I’m not just speaking of the forced inclusion of ethnic characters, with Amazon’s previous MMORPG attempt in the form of Lost Ark introducing the most hilarious and out of place forced diversity I have ever seen.
With the game being unceremoniously censored for globalized audiences, with outfits being refined so that they’re not deemed sexist and derogatory, alongside half-arsing race swaps of countless characters for representation in their Korean developed MMO for western audiences, except the racial swaps look so out of character that you could even argue that Amazon themselves condone “blackface” racist undertones with these changes.
But that’s all well in the past, with Lost Ark getting a worldwide release in February of 2022 and is subsequently dead, Blue Protocol however is a collaborative effort between Amazon Games and Bandai Namco and hopefully aims to appease all crowds again with its anime-esk MMORPG.
The game is already accessible on PC in Japan, where local players have expressed dissatisfaction with its predatory nature, unimpressive updates and roadmap.
The Japanese-developed MMO is due to release on home consoles like Sony’s PlayStation, which is notorious for censorship on Japanese developed games and Microsoft’s Xbox consoles in Japan before finally reaching Western regions on these consoles and PC next year.
Blue Protocol, a Japanese-developed game featuring anime-inspired character designs, caters to a specific and niche audience, often referred to as “weebs.” Unfortunately, Amazon’s politically-driven stance, marked by imposed censorship and heightened diversity, has hindered its success in the Western market from the start.
Despite Amazon’s efforts to appeal to a broader audience with a global release for Blue Protocol, the reality is that the game doesn’t align with the preferences of the so called “wider audience” demographic.
These individuals simply want nothing to do with an anime-styled gacha game, as these sycophants openly proclaim such content to be sexualizing minors with anime especially targeting pedophiles.
While the weebs themselves won’t want to play the game either given the extreme lengths of censorship that awaits them in the global release.
When questioned about potential censorship in the English version, Zadorojny acknowledged content alterations aimed at securing a Teen rating, including the removal of the “Jiggle Physics” button from character creation among various redesigns of outfits for characters that cover up more skin and are less “provocative”.
But these changes wouldn’t make their way onto the native Japanese version of the game right? Some desperate players are in fact using a VPN to play the game on PC via Japanese servers, Blue Protocol will also ban users found to be accessing such regions from abroad.
Well you’d be wrong about that too as the western sensibility censorship has made its way onto the Japanese version of the game on the Sony PlayStation variant of the game.
Japanese players swiftly identified the censored version released on PlayStation and shared screenshots for comparison. The same Japanese gamer expressed satisfaction that the Xbox version remained uncensored, stating, “With XBOX, there are no restrictions on pants!“
This doesn’t surprise me one bit given how Sony have been fixated against the lobotomization of Japanese developers by imposing censorship, they’ve outright killed the Senran Kagura franchise by imposing censorship upon 7EVEN causing it to go on developmental hiatus as the series creator, Kenichiro Takaki left Marvelous.
Sony hates the Japanese so goddamn much they’ve outright moved the location for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s headquarters from Japan to the humble confinements of California, which for the unintelligent is in America.
You could try and argue that these changes to provocative outfits on the Sony PlayStation version were made to adhere to Japan’s CERO guidelines and you’d be wrong about that given how the XBOX rendition is somehow less censored.
Blue Protocol on the Microsoft XBOX for instance still removes the jiggle physics button from the character customization screen, it’s not present in other console version however that seems to be about as far as the censorship on consoles goes for the XBOX.
On PS5, various alterations have been made to characters with the S body type. Regardless of the player’s choice of underwear items for the character, only the initial basic underwear option from character creation will be visible.
When playing the same character on PC or Xbox, underwear options will be displayed as usual; this limitation only affects the presentation on PS5, and the items themselves have not been removed. However, on PS5, underwear items will not be available for purchase in the in-game shops if your character has an S body type.
This is akin yet distinct from the censorship Amazon imposed during the closed beta of the English release, while the jiggle button was also eliminated, Amazon completely removed the S body type and restricted underwear options for all body types and not just the S body.
Other users are joining the discussion, noting that the Japanese version of the game on PlayStation aligns perfectly with the globally censored version, including alterations to NPC outfits. This confirms that the woke-sensitive censorship is being backported to the country of origin, further dividing an already disgruntled player base that continues to diminish day by day.
It simply isn’t enough for the likes of Amazon to absolutely butcher the release of Blue Protocol for western audiences, but rather they’ve been on a death march to ensure that the game is dead on arrival when it does actually launch, especially now that anti-Japanese corporations such as Sony are getting more involved with censorship on the Japanese version of the game to boot.
With a headline such as this I cannot contain my fucking laughter, the Amazon representative spoke with “The Gamer”, one of the most egregious anti-gaming journalistic publications out there at Gamescom, the very same franchise lead, Mike Zadorojny who proclaimed that Amazon were working closely with Bandai Namco and that they want “what the players want”.
Amazon knows what the players want, which is why they opt to release an over-monetized and censorship heavy game, because they want a fraction of the success and infamy that Genshin Impact achieved despite favoring ESG scoring by pushing for immense globalized censorship.
Rest assured, just like Lost Ark, just like New World, this MMO will not be any different, Blue Protocol is guaranteed to fail, Bandai have shot themselves in the foot by sharing the losses with Amazon who seemingly wish to become a more prominent figure in the gaming landscape and yet seemingly cannot achieve anything without forcing compliance and inclusive propaganda down their players throats.
Blue Protocol is set to release in the West at some point in 2024 and I honestly couldn’t give a shit, this rubbish will flop hard when it does go live in western regions, the so called “wider audience” has a panic attack at the mere thought of a fictionalized anime character, while the depraved weeb whales will look elsewhere for something that isn’t censored beyond repair, I predict that the games servers will be shelved after just a couple years following the western release.
