It appears that the unveiling of a release date and trailer for the upcoming Holo X Break wasn’t the only significant announcement at this year’s Hololive SUPER EXPO.
Entergram also announced a new title in development as a successor to Aquarium.
For those unfamiliar, “Aquarium.” was a brief yet charming visual novel developed by Entergram, revolving around the Hololive VTuber, Minato Aqua. Originally released in Japanese for PC, Sony PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2022, it later received an official English translation on Steam a year later.
Within the game, players take on the role of the “master” of Minato Aqua, who transitions into a real maid within an alternate realm. As players support her, they become captivated by her dependency.
The narration unfolds as a pure love story, illustrating the journey of two individuals as they confront challenges together and overcome opposition.
Visual novels themselves are a rather niche genre, even more so if there’s a connective tie to Virtual YouTubers such as Cover’s infamous Hololive brand, regardless the English Steam release of Aquarium. has received 279 reviews with a very positive reception of 98%.
For those fans of Hololive and primarily Minato Aqua herself and perhaps Houshou Marine who also happens to be working as a maid, the visual novel is simply hours upon hours of captivating fanservice.
Entergram has yet to disclose any specifics regarding the anticipated new installment in the Aquarium series. Details regarding supported console platforms, release dates, and even the storyline remain completely undisclosed. Fans have been encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as information will be revealed in due time.
