The recently launched “True Stalker” is a comprehensive overhaul mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, featuring a brand-new storyline, additional locations, voice-over work, soundtrack, and graphical enhancements.
“True Stalker” presents a wholly original and expanded storyline that takes place after the conclusion of Call of Pripyat.
The protagonist, Axe, an ordinary stalker navigating the Zone, embarks on a quest into the deeper, uncharted territories of the Zone. The narrative delves into regions never before explored by Axe.
The mod emphasizes exploration, gunfights, uncovering mysteries, and confronting various creatures within the Zone, rather than focusing on specific quests.
True Stalker features 13 in-game locations along with a new UI, Inventory System, and HUD. The mod also introduces over 50 new compositions to enhance the gaming experience. Expect updated graphics and new NPC 3D models, as the visuals undergo a comprehensive overhaul using a modified version of the X-Ray Engine.
True Stalker was developed by fans as a true sequel to the last entry in the series, I for one highly doubt that STALKER 2 will match a fraction of the success given how majority of GSC’s developers left to join what eventually became 4A Games, developers of the Metro franchise.
Especially given how Metro and STALKER 2 are more “story driven” for their narratives, forgetting the whole NFT debacle, I’d much rather a fan-game that actually captures the authentic nature of STALKER as opposed to a narrative focused supposed sequel developed by effectively nobody who worked on the original trilogy.
This results in new dynamic weather patterns and higher quality textures for an improved visual presentation.
I’m just thrilled to see the modding community once again at its fullest extent, True Stalker is a bonified new experience, it’s more than a mod it’s an entire fangame, similarly to The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos for fans of the Gothic franchise, for fans of a true authentic STALKER experience, forget about the sequel and its inevitable disappointment instead focus your attention towards True STALKER instead because you certainly won’t be disappointed.
